Suzi Analogue

Suzi Analogue is an American soul/electronic/experimental artist known best her imaginative vocal and production contributions to genre-bending urban music. Her aesthetic utilizes vocal notions of classic soul mashed against electronic charm, creating soundscapes that are conveyed through a global perspective.

Born in Baltimore, MD and raised in central Virginia, Suzi’s geographical background kept her closely connected to the roots of soul, hip-hop, club music, and the emergence of southern hip-hop ; all of which serves as inspiration to her sound and style. Her fascination for self-recordings began at 10 when she began creating her own mixtapes on cassette with dubbed vocals. It was an obsession that seemed to stick.

In August 2010, Suzi self-released the NNXTAPE, a 24-track mixtape of songs performed to beats that is available digitally and on cassette.

She currently resides in Philly and works with closely with Dopeness Galore (Amsterdam) In 2011 the label released NNXT, her debut vinyl release. NNXT features two songs and the production comes from Georgia Anne Muldrow (The Program) and Suzi herself (The Thing). A future record with Dopeness Galore is in production.

In 2009, FRESHSELECTS.NET released her 9-track EP “World Excerpts 1-9” featuring a majority of songs produced by Suzi.

Notable collaborations come from the production crew Klipmode, of which she’s a member. Klipmode consists of devonwho, Knxwledge, and MNDSGN and over the past year the group has made significant extended play releases available digitally.

In 2010, Suzi Analogue and TOKiMONSTA (Brainfeeder) joined forces to begin a collaborative project under the pseudonym Analogue Monsta. Their first release, NXT MSG was featured on BBC1 Radio DJ Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Bubblers Volume 5. A forthcoming project from the two is underway. The duo opened for producer Bonobo’s U.S. Black Sands tour in 2010.

Past and upcoming musical collaborations from Suzi have included Stalley, Cerebral Vortex, Portformat, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Ta’Raach, Blu, Quelle, Pugs Atomz, La Melodia, and more.

Suzi is also set for collaborative releases with Jazzysport (Tokyo), Tokyo Dawn (Frankfurt), and Wax Museum Records (Melbourne) and been featured on many other releases.
